Darkness

On the verge of darkness and peril

I collapse to my knees

Embracing the fate of an everlasting terror

Lifting my hands; giving up to the evil awaiting

I want to drain the agony from my veins

I want to overcome these chains of failure

I want to find light in the vast void encircling me

But I don’t know if I have the strength or courage to pursue it

Closing my eyes, I cry out

Envisioning a day I break away from these chains

Hearing a graceful voice streaming through my inner being

“You will always find light, even on your darkest days my son. You must not forget who you are, for you will always find your way back to the path meant for you to walk; Overcoming all barriers you may face on your way.”
